ABOUT NOT YOUR BASIC BOX

We are two busy moms, who both welcomed new babies in 2020. We found ourselves comparing notes on favorite baby boutiques, brands, and gear, on a weekly, if not daily, basis. We each spent a lot of our free time driving around town, or to the corners of the internet, to pull together thoughtful and unique baby gifts. Not to mention making sure they were packaged in a beautiful way. We knew there had to be an easier way to gift the products new parents need without all the hassle. And from that, Not Your Basic Box was born.

We believe that all baby gifts should be beautiful, thoughtful, and most importantly functional! Our gift boxes are made using the top baby products that new parents need. All the essentials featured are items and brands we use on a daily basis in our own homes. From our BathTime Box to our BlowOut Bundle, all our gifts are designed to make parenting more enjoyable and a *bit* easier. About the Box

Each of your specially curated boxes arrive in a keepsake magnetic closure high gloss box. These boxes are reusable and perfect for storing sweet mementos under a crib or on a shelf in the nursery. Your items come surrounded by crinkle paper and wrapped in tissue to ensure secure transit. Every box is wrapped in the highest quality ribbon and topped with part of your gift like our hand dyed bibs, books or pacifiers and a to-from tag. Finished with a gift note customized to your specifications. Not feeling very creative? Let our team write the note for you! Just include your to-from information.

About the Bundles

All of our specially curated bundles arrive in a gorgeous ribbon tied poly bag. These clear bags let your adorable gift shine through. Your bag is filled with crinkle paper to protect your products in transit and add a pop to your package. Topped with your gift note, to-from-tag and our own love note, our bundles are every bit as adorable and thoughtful as our boxes. These can also be reused and are great for storing small items like bows, feeding items and diaper supplies.

We understand that sometimes, you have ideas of your own. Your have the ability to skip packaging in our Build-Your-Own Section and our shop everything sections!

2020 happened and the way we celebrate life’s biggest moments evolved. Virtual announcements, drive-by gender reveals, and online baby showers have become our new normal. Our custom curated boxes are perfect for shipping and show new parents how much you care in moments when we have to be apart. Not Your Basic Baby Box allows you to easily curate and ship mom-favorite essentials directly to parents in a safe and thoughtful way.

Founders Priya and Courtney met in 2019 when their oldest children started preschool together. As their kids became fast friends, Priya and Courtney found they also had much in common, including a love of shopping, new pregnancies, and a recent return to Dallas. They decided to couple their combined business experience, and appreciation for high-quality baby products, to bring together the best brands in one customizable gift box. In 2020, Not Your Basic Baby Box launched with the mission to make the gifting experience easier by bringing parents the essentials they need in one perfect package.

We are firm believers that giving goes beyond gifting. Our founders wanted to create a socially responsible brand with giving back as a core tenet. NYBB is thrilled to partner with the Genesis Women’s Shelter to help support their Children’s Education Program.

Genesis Women’s shelter is a local Dallas organization that aims to give women and children in abusive situations a path to lead an independent and safe life. They provide a safe and nurturing on-site educational environment designed to instill young hearts and minds with a curiosity for knowledge and passion for learning.

As empowering women and children through education is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts, we invite you to share in our mission. Know that with each gift you send, you’ll be giving back too. A portion of the proceeds from every book sold will be used to provide educational resources for the families at Genesis.
